Cardiff City are back in Championship action this afternoon following a turbulent week in the capital.

Mark Hudson was dismissed following the 1-1 draw with fellow strugglers Wigan Athletic last week, with Dean Whitehead taking interim charge.

Whitehead oversaw the desperate 5-2 defeat at Leeds United in the FA Cup in midweek, a result that extended their winless run to 10 games in all competitions.

He will take his place in the dugout for the visit of the Lions, with Cardiff urgently hoping to open up some breathing space between themselves and the relegation zone.
