Cardiff City v AFC Wimbledon LIVE: Kick-off time, TV channel, team news
Good evening and welcome to our live coverage of Cardiff City v AFC Wimbledon in the Vertu Trophy Round of 32.
The Bluebirds return to action under the lights at Cardiff City Stadium tonight as they look to book their place in the last 16 of the competition. Brian Barry-Murphy's young guns produced a tremendous performance to beat Arsenal U21s in the group stages to seal their spot in the knockouts.
Tonight’s opponents AFC Wimbledon have enjoyed a strong start to life back in League One, sitting ninth after 17 matches following their promotion last season.
Manager Johnnie Jackson has warned he’ll have to juggle his selection after a physically draining weekend and a couple of key injuries, with forward Antwoine Hackford sidelined by a hamstring issue and midfielder Delano McCoy-Splatt also ruled out.
The Dons reached this stage by beating Bromley and Crystal Palace U21s in the groups, and they’ll arrive in Cardiff looking to avenge August’s late heartbreak, when Isaak Davies’ 90th-minute winner gave City their first away victory of the campaign.
Kick-off is at 7pm this evening and the match will also be shown on Sky Sports+, as well as Cardiff City TV.
