Cardiff City headlines as Steve Morison explains what happened to Rubin Colwill and Millwall get lucky with 'Superman impression'

These are your Cardiff City headlines on Sunday, February 13.

Steve Morison will be sweating on the fitness of Rubin Colwill for the midweek clash with Coventry City.

The Sky Blues arrive at Cardiff City Stadium on Tuesday night on the back of a 3-2 win over Reading on Saturday.

The hosts may have to make do without Colwill, who pulled up in the warm-up at The Den ahead of the game against Millwall.

Moments before kick-off, the Wales youngster was replaced in the matchday squad by Eli King.

"He tried hit a volley yesterday in training and kicked the floor rather than the ball," Morison explained. "He was a little bit sore but we felt it was OK.

"It wasn't until he went out and did the warm-up that we found out it was a bit sore.

"That's why Eli jumped onto the bench."

Morison was left incensed that his team were denied what he felt was a "stonewall penalty" in south London.

Jake Cooper appeared to block Tommy Doyle's shot with his hands, with the incident being discussed on Quest's EFL show on Saturday evening.

"(Millwall) maybe got a bit lucky there with the Superman impression!" host Colin Murray said of Cooper's intervention.

Guest pundit Ian Holloway offered mitigation over the decision, believing the man in the middle was left unsighted.

Holloway said: "With that one there, I don't think the referee could see it, but I think they've got a right good chance (of gatecrashing the play-offs)."

It certain left Morison fuming.

"It's a stonewall penalty," he said when questioned on the incident after the game. "End of conversation.

"But the referee won't come up here and talk about it.

"Apparently his hand's in a natural position. If diving and stopping the ball with your hands is natural then it's a new one.

"That's life.
