Cardiff City headlines as Bournemouth boss makes transfer admission amid Kieffer Moore links and striker out for weeks

Bournemouth boss Scott Parker has admitted he wants to add players to help in the attacking third of the pitch following links with Cardiff City's Kieffer Moore.

While there were links at the start of the month, it is understood there has been nothing concrete tabled for the striker at time of writing.

Reports on the south coast suggest that the Cherries have had a bid rejected for Peterborough's Sirki Dembele, while Parker reiterated that progress on the transfer front has been slows going of late.

“I’m not sure we are getting closer," Parker said. "We are in (for signings). We are trying to do business and trying to get some bodies in to get the help that we probably need to get us over the line.

"But we realise this is a very difficult window to buy players. Like always, we will have to see where we are late on because I think that’s when it’s probably going to end up being.

"But we are trying all we can to support the team and I think we’ll know nearer the time when the window shuts."

Parker refused to be drawn on specific players, having also been heavily linked with Derby County's Tom Lawrence, but the Cherries boss did confirm he wanted to bolster his attacking stable before Monday's deadline.

"I wouldn’t want to comment on any club's players," he added. "I feel that we need to improve certain areas and attacking areas of the pitch is probably an area we need to look at. These are the positions we are looking at.

"What I can say they're the areas we are looking. I can tell the fans we are trying our hardest and the people in those places, the scouts, the recruitment department, the ownership, we are trying all we can to get bodies in to help us.
