Cardiff City 4-0 Peterborough United: Rampant Bluebirds ease relegation fears with crushing victory

Cardiff City took a giant step towards preserving their Championship status for another season by hammering relegation rivals Peterborough United 4-0 at the Cardiff City Stadium.

A rampant performance from the hosts saw Joe Ralls, Aden Flint, Jordan Hugill, Uche Ikpeazu all find the net, although much of the post-match praise will likely be centred around wing-back Cody Drameh, who produced a man-of-the-match showing under the lights as the hosts secured a third league win on the bounce.

It was a night that showed little indication of any hangover from Cardiff's FA Cup party at Anfield, where the travelling support were responsible for creating a superb atmosphere, despite claims to the contrary from some voices on Merseyside.

The importance of this game had seen Steve Morison call on Bluebirds supporters to bring the same level of fervour to this contest as they looked to put some welcome daylight between themselves and the relegation zone.

There were certainly no concerns about the noise levels during the opening exchanges here, as the home crowd watched their team make a blistering start.
