Cardiff City 3-2 Huddersfield: Salech double keeps hosts top of League One
Cardiff City strengthened their grip on the top of League One after seeing off Huddersfield Town at the Cardiff City Stadium.
Yousef Salech's ninth goal of the season put the hosts in front, before Leo Castledine fired home to restore parity early in the second half.
However, another Salech header midway through the second half restored the hosts' lead, which was then extended by a terrific Isaak Davies strike.
Joe Taylor came off the bench to touch home a second for the visitors to set up a nervy finish, but Cardiff would hold out for all three points.
The result means Cardiff stay at the top of the league, one point clear of Bradford City.
The Bluebirds also have the luxury of a game in hand over their nearest rivals.
Brian Barry-Murphy made two changes to the side that swept aside Mansfield Town last weekend, and his team began on the front foot again here.
Indeed, it took just six minutes for them to get up and running.
Chris Willock did well to feed Joel Bagan down the left, and his teasing cross was duly headed home by Salech, who had previously sent an angled effort into the side-netting.
