Cardiff City 0-2 QPR: Riza suffers damaging defeat against fellow strugglers as winless run stretches to four

Omer Riza's Cardiff City job audition took a major dent after the Bluebirds were beaten 2-0 at home to struggling QPR.

It was a potentially damaging night for the interim boss, who has now overseen four matches without a win, which sees Cardiff's form tracking once again in a worrying direction.

An early goal from Zan Celar and a stoppage-time effort from the same man consigned the Bluebirds to three defeats in four and the home supporters made their displeasure known at half-time and full-time after a hapless, creatively-void performance from the hosts.

Simply not good enough at either end of the pitch and City's players and management will know that. It was a fantastic away performance from QPR, who stacked their defence and took Celar took his chances splendidly. But Cardiff need more than that, much, much more.

Riza made three changes from the goalless draw at Sheffield Wednesday, bringing in a fit-again Calum Chambers, Joe Ralls and Joel Bagan. Notably, Wilfried Kanga had been bombed the squad all together in favour of academy striker Michael Reindorf.

The ball fell to Perry Ng, who smacked his shot straight at Paul Nardi from five yards out. The rebound fizzed through Callum Robinson's legs before he could turn home into an empty net.
