Cardiff Airport evacuated after reports of a gas leak
Passengers at Cardiff Airport were evacuated for a time after a gas-related incident in the main terminal building. There are pictures on social media of people leaving the building, who say their flights are delayed.
Essential building maintenance is currently ongoing at the Vale of Glamorgan airport, and a spokesperson for the airport said that they had experienced a "safety related incident related to gas in the air conditioning in the building works area within the terminal".
They added: "Safety and security is our number one priority, so the landside area was evacuated whilst our team carried out safety checks."
Flights due to depart from the airport today are to Belfast, Bridgetown in Barbados and Paris. The airport said there were "minor delays" to flight and the terminal was back open just after 11am.
