Canelo Alvarez vs Gennady Golovkin 3: Dmitry Bivol's promoter reacts to fight announcement

Dmitry Bivol’s promoter has given his thoughts on Canelo Alvarez opting to face Gennady Golovkin in his next fight.

This September, Canelo Alvarez and Gennady Golovkin will finally settle the score in their rivalry once and for all as they meet in a highly anticipated trilogy bout for all the marbles at super-middleweight. It comes four years after their initial rematch that was won by Canelo, with the first fight being scored as a draw.

Heading into the announcement that was made yesterday about the showdown being booked, many were left to wonder whether or not Canelo would choose a third meeting with Golovkin ahead of an immediate rematch with Bivol.

He went with the former as opposed to the latter, with the fight being booked for September 17 – location TBD.

In response, Bivol’s promoter Andrey Ryabinskiy was quick to look ahead to the future as opposed to thinking too much about what Canelo is doing.

“Dmitry has begun his preparations for the next fight already. But it is impossible to say, who will be the next person to fight with – we have just begun to think about it,” Ryabinskiy said.

“I believe in Dmitry. Today he is definitely one of the best fighters in the world because of the combination of his physical conditions, his abilities to concentrate on the result and his technique.”
