Canadian women's 3x3 team just 1 win away from clinching Olympic Games berth

The Canadian women's 3x3 team are just one win away from clinching a spot at the Paris Olympic Games.

The team of Paige Crozon, Kacie Bosch, and twin sisters Michelle and Katherine Plouffe scored a 21-8 quarterfinal win over Italy on Sunday at a last-chance Olympic qualifier in Debrecen, Hungary.

Crozon and Katherine Plouffe both scored nine points in the win over Italy, which saw the Canadians roar out of the gate on a 9-1 run.

Canada will now play in the semifinals at 1:30 p.m. ET against Spain.

The top three finishers at the event will lock down spots at the Summer Games, which means semifinal winners automatically qualify for Paris 2024.

The two semifinal losers will play in the third-place match for the final spot available at the Summer Games.

Canada finished atop Pool B with a perfect 3-0 record with round-robin wins over Chile (21-11), Lithuania (19-16), and Czechia (17-10).
