Canadian women move to 3-0 at sitting volleyball worlds, men suffer 2nd loss
Canada's women remained unbeaten at the world sitting volleyball championships with a 3-0 victory over Japan (25-17, 25-20, 25-16) on Monday.
Captain Heidi Peters led Canada (3-0) with 29 points (16 attacks, 10 aces and three blocks).
Kerrie Buchberger added 11 points, while Allison Lang contributed eight as Canada controlled the match from the service line and finished with 14 aces.
The Canadian women secured the top spot in their pool with nine points. Canada will next play France (0-3) in the knockout stage on Tuesday.
On the men's side, the Canadians lost to China 3-1 in their final preliminary round match (23-25, 25-16, 25-18, 25-19).
Canada (1-2) will next face the United States (2-1) in the knockout stage Tuesday.
