Canadian speed skaters Weidemann, Maltais, Blondin book spot in team pursuit gold-medal final
The Canadian women's team pursuit trio of Isabelle Weidemann, Valérie Maltais, and Ivanie Blondin will get the chance to defend their Olympic title.
The speed skaters won their women's team pursuit semifinal against the U.S. on Tuesday at the Milano Cortina Olympic Games and will skate in the gold-medal final at 10:40 a.m. ET.
Weidemann, Maltais, and Blondin – who won gold in the event at Beijing 2022 – are guaranteed a medal result when they face the Netherlands, who beat Japan in the day's other semifinal.
More to come.
