Canadian freestyle skiers Oldham, Gaskell win silver, bronze at World Cup slopestyle event

A pair of Canadians climbed the podium at the women's freestyle skiing slopestyle World Cup event in Aspen, Colo., on Friday.

Megan Oldham, of Parry Sound, Ont., and Elena Gaskell, of Vernon, B.C., captured silver and bronze, respectively, while Great Britain's Kirsty Muir took gold.

Oldham's second run score of 73.02 secured the silver medal while Gaskell's final run of 72.90 earned her a third-place finish.

On the men's side, American Mac Forehand (77.38) won gold, with Estonia's Henry Sildaru (75.90) and Norway's Ulrik Samnoey (74.64) taking silver and bronze, respectively.

The top Canadian finisher was Max Moffatt, who ended up in sixth place with a second-run score of 72.71.
