Canada's Sarah Mitton finishes 3rd at Stockholm Diamond League

Canada's Sarah Mitton finished third in the women's shot put at a Diamond League meet in Stockholm, Sweden, on Sunday.

The Brooklyn, N.S., native's best throw came in her first attempt, reaching 19.89 metres. Jessica Schilder, of the Netherlands captured the top spot with a winning throw of 20.89 metres. The United States’ Chase Jackson finished behind with a best throw of 19.91 metres.

It was Mitton's second third-place result on the Diamond League circuit this season, following a podium finish at the opening meet in Shanghai.

The 29-year-old captured back-to-back world indoor titles in 2024 and 2025, but was unable to defend her crown earlier this year in Torun, Poland, where Jackson claimed the gold medal.
