De Grasse, Rogers headline star-studded Canadian track & field team for Commonwealth Games

Commonwealth Sports Canada (CSC) and Athletics Canada unveiled its roster for the 2026 Commonwealth Games on Wednesday, naming a team that includes several Olympic and world champions.

The Canadian track and field team heading to this summer's competition in Glasgow, Scotland, includes 25 Olympians and 13 athletes with previous Commonwealth Games experience. That includes Olympic champions Andre De Grasse, Damian Warner and Ethan Katzberg, along with Olympic and world hammer throw champion Camryn Rogers and defending Commonwealth Games shot put champion Sarah Mitton.

De Grasse will be joined by his 4x100-metre relay teammates Aaron Brown, Brendon Rodney, and Jerome Blake.

“Having all those guys, we're contenders. We're gold medallist contenders. So, I’m looking forward to that,” De Grasse said in a release. 

Race walker Evan Dunfee, a Commonwealth Games champion in 2022, and two-time Commonwealth medallist Moh Ahmed were also named to the team.

The roster also includes athletes making their Commonwealth Games debuts, including reigning world indoor 400-metre champion Christopher Morales Williams and sprinter Audrey Leduc, who both won national titles last weekend in Ottawa.

“My goal between Paris [2024] and L.A. [2028] is to make as many teams as I can, like the Commonwealth Games, among others,” Leduc said. “It’s going to be another great experience, and I’m really looking forward to seeing what these Games are like. I’m really excited.” 

Glasgow 2026 will feature 43 medal events in athletics, in addition to 16 medal events in para athletics.
