Canada's Megan Oldham wins gold medal at World Cup big air event in Aspen

Canadian freestyle skier Megan Oldham won her first gold medal of the World Cup season Thursday at a big air competition in Aspen.

Flora Tabanelli of Italy (175.25 points) was second and Anni Karava of Finland (157.5) was third.

Oldham has three World Cup podium appearances this year after claiming slopestyle silver medals Saturday in Aspen and Jan. 17 in Laax, Switzerland.

In the men's event, Austria's Matej Svancer took gold with 190.25 points, followed by Luca Harrington of New Zealand (187.75) and Konnor Ralph of the United States (183.75).

Ottawa's Noah Porter MacLennan was sixth with 174.25 points and Dylan Deschamps of Quebec City was ninth at 117.25.
