Cambuslang Rangers boss blasts 'Saturday morning' defending in Kilbirnie draw

Frustrated Cambuslang Rangers boss Paul McColl compared his side’s defending to ‘Saturday morning stuff’ as they drew 2-2 at Kilbirnie Ladeside, but says the hosts are better than their league position suggests.

McColl’s Camby were 2-1 up with 12 minutes left through goals from Del McNab and Ross McDonald, only to lose a late equaliser to an avoidable error.

“We could have ended up winning it at the end, we had a late chance, but a point is good enough to take away from there.

“Even though they’ve lost their first three games, they’re a decent side and caused us a few problems – they will surprise a few people this season.

“We scored two decent goals, had a few chances and, overall, taking a point away from there, with the way we played, isn’t the worst.”

McColl has been pleased with the start Cambuslang have made, as they’re one of three unbeaten teams in the league, but hopes to climb the table as they host
