Calvin Bassey and Joe Aribo in Rangers double as pair scoop top prizes at 'Ballers Awards' in Nigeria

Rangers duo Calvin Bassey and Joe Aribo were among the winners at Nigerian football's annual "Ballers Awards".

Bassey was named Revelation of the Year and Aribo scooped Midfielder of the Year at the red carpet event in Lagos on Sunday night.

Both players are currently on international duty with the Super Eagles and received the honours in absentia.

The pair were key men for Rangers as the club reached the Europa League Final and won the Scottish Cup last season.

Bassey, in particular, rose to prominence in the second half of the campaign and has subsequently emerged as a transfer target for Aston Villa.

Aribo, meanwhile, is about to enter the final year of his deal with the Ibrox club.

Recognition in their homeland will be a fitting end to the campaign for the two players.

The Ballers Awards, now in its fourth year, honours the top performers in Nigerian football from the previous season.

Other winners included Victor Osimhen (Baller of the Year), Ajani Waheed (Most Promising) and Kennedy Boboye (Coach of the Year) among several others.
