If you're jetting off on a long-haul flight this year, there are plenty of options when it comes to selecting your stopover location. Jay suggests Istanbul airport, specifically flying with Turkish Airlines. With connections to over 110 countries, Istanbul is one of the best-connected airports globally.

Jay says: "If you fly with Turkish Airlines, they will show you their amazing city for free if you have a stopover between 6 and 24 hours. The airline picks you up and takes you on a sightseeing tour of one of the most vibrant and historic cities on earth, before bringing you back to the airport for your connecting flight."

When booking flights, it's tempting to choose your seats based on how quickly you can disembark the plane. This often leads to people reserving seats at the front of the aircraft.
