Bute Street closed following serious collision in Treorchy - latest updates
South Wales Police's team at Rhondda Cynon Taff are dealing with a serious road traffic collision that occurred in the early hours of New Year's Day.
It happened along Bute Street in the town between the junction of the High Street and Prince's Street. Officers say that the road is expected to remain closed for some time while investigation and clearing up work gets under way.
The police posted some details on social media at 3:32am on Sunday. The post read: "We are at the scene of a serious collision on Bute Street, Treorchy. The road is currently closed in both directions between the junction of High Street and Princess Street [sic]. It is expected to remain closed for some time."
Alongside the tweet was a banner asking people to avoid the area.
