Bulls keep promising loosie until 2027, in talks with Arendse, Goosen

Promising young Bulls loose forward Elrigh Louw will keep plying his trade in Pretoria for at least the next five years.

According to Rapport, the 22-year-old's contract with the Bulls has been extended until 2027.

Louw, a former Junior Springbok, has been one of the star performers for the Bulls in the United Rugby Championship (URC) and is tipped by many for higher honours.

Meanwhile, the report added that the Bulls were busy negotiating deals with fullback Kurt-Lee Arendse and flyhalf Johan Goosen, both for contracts until 2027.

Arendse, 25, has been red-hot in the URC - he's made the most clean breaks in the competition (16) and is second in the metres gained category (694m), trailing only team-mate Madosh Tambwe's 724m.

The Bulls are also hard at work in retaining the services of Tambwe, who has been linked with a move to France.

His contribution to the Bulls cause, who are now on a five-match winning streak in the URC, has been noticeable.

Links have also grown that he could be up for a Springbok call-up, although there isn't clarity about his ability to play for South Africa as a Democratic Republic of Congo-born player.

"I think the more we win, the more he probably wants to stay, which is fantastic," Bulls director of rugby Jake White said after their 34-16 win over Ulster at the weekend.

"He's playing phenomenal rugby, and I think he has a desire to be a Springbok."But it is what it is. We'd obviously like to keep him, and we've been negotiating. But if he has committed (to the move), then we're going to lose him."
