Bullish Cyriel Dessers tells Celtic that Rangers are the BEST team in Scotland

Cyriel Dessers has confidently declared Rangers the BEST team in Scotland amid the end of season tussle with Celtic.

The Glasgow giants are set to battle it out for Scottish Cup after Dessers' double saw off Hearts to book the Light Blues' spot in the Hampden final. I's the first time there will be an Old Firm Scottish Cup final in 22 years - with a last-minute Peter Lovenkrands winner deciding a five-goal classic the last time the Glasgow giants faced off in the showpiece.

And along with the battle for the cup, the two are fighting it our for the Premiership trophy. Brendan Rodgers' side hold a three point lead over Rangers and boast a superior goal difference - but Nigeria international Dessers insists the league table doesn't tell the full story.

Speaking to BBC Sportsound, he said: "If you look at the last few months we've shown what we're capable of and I think it's just trying to get the vibe back. If we can find that rhythm back then I think we're the best team in the league and hopefully we can show that in the next games.

"It's not only us 11 or 15 players on the pitch, it will be with everybody together. Players, staff, fans, everybody in and around the club, and I think altogether we can do this."

"We have six more games and everything to play for. I think we have to (think of it as) a new league starting next weekend. We know what we have to do to go and win the title and I think we've got everything to do that as well. Hopefully we can execute that on the pitch."
