Bud Cauley wins RBC Canadian Open to capture long-awaited 1st PGA Tour tournament title

Bud Cauley's long wait is over.

The American won the RBC Canadian Open, the men's national golf championship, by two strokes.

Cauley had played on the PGA Tour for 15 years without winning a tournament, a span of 239 events.

A car accident in June 2018 left him significantly injured and forced him to miss several events.

England's Matt Fitzpatrick finished second, two shots back.

Sudarshan Yellamaraju of Mississauga, Ont., was the low Canadian, tying for eighth.
