Bryan Robson reveals the unexpected quality Christian Eriksen will bring to Manchester United
Bryan Robson has praised new Manchester United signing Christian Eriksen for his defensive efforts as well as his attacking capabilities.
The Dane signed on a three-year deal as a free agent last week to become Erik ten Hag’s second signing of the window ahead of Lisandro Martinez.
Eriksen is seen as an attacking playmaker while supporters are keen to see a more defensive-minded central player arrive at the club. However, Robson says Eriksen can offer some defensive support too.

“I think he’s more of an attacking type of player, but he’s disciplined, and he does work hard for the team, and he gets back into the right areas,” he told club media. Robson also touched on his attacking play and how he and Bruno Fernandes can offer a set-piece threat.
He likened Eriksen’s style to that of former United midfielder Arnold Muhren, who played for the club between 1982 to 1985. “He reminds me a little bit of Arnold Muhren, with the way he used to come in from the left and get into the right areas,” Robson added.
“Eriksen can do that. He’s got amazing quality on the ball. For set plays, it’s going to be a nice mixture with Bruno and with him, there’s a lot of quality there and hopefully that will show.”
