Brutal: Alasdair Gold now hints Conte to drop 4/10 ace for Tottenham's next clash

Antonio Conte is expected to replace Tottenham Hotspur wing-back Sergio Reguilon with Ryan Sessegnon on the weekend if fit enough to play. 

This is according to the reliable Alasdair Gold who was speaking on his YouTube channel after the recent defeat on the weekend to Brighton & Hove Albion.

Reguilon started his first game of the month having returned against Aston Villa from his recent injury issue which saw him miss one game (via Transfermarkt).

However, it was apparent the Spaniard did not impress in the game against the Seagulls as Gold awarded the 25-year-old with just a 4/10 rating after the match.

And Gold feels, if fit enough to start, Conte will overlook Reguilon in favour of Sessegnon this weekend for their next game which comes away to the in-form Brentford:

“I just feel that with his [Reguilon] pace he should be doing so much more when he gets in the final third, but he was pretty, very poor, to be honest, yesterday [Saturday]. And I wouldn’t be surprised if Sessegnon comes back into the team for Brentford if Conte feels he’s fit enough to start a match. You kind of felt that before his injury he was being preferred.”

“So if and it’s an if, because obviously, they’ve got to get him to the right place physically and also mentally in his confidence in his hamstring. If they can get him to that place for next Saturday, I wouldn’t be stunned if Sessegnon starts.”

We absolutely agree with Gold’s thinking ahead of the game against the Bees. For a player who cost Spurs £27m, Reguilon simply has not done enough to live up to the price tag.
