Bruno Lage left 'upset' after Wolves exit FA Cup as transfer verdict delivered

Wolverhampton Wanderers have been knocked out of the FA Cup after losing 1-0 to Norwich City at Molineux.

With only seconds left until the half-time whistle was blown by referee David Coote, Wolves were then made to pay for a poor 45 minutes.

A free-kick wide of Ruddy 's goal was fired in by Chelsea loanee Billy Gilmour and Scotland international McLean flicked the ball over the goalkeeper to put Norwich ahead. Loud boos were heard around Molineux after the referee blew up for the interval.

Norwich had been eliminated by Wolves in each of the two previous FA Cup ties between the sides, losing 5-1 in the round three in 1971 and 3-2 in a fourth round replay in 1980, but Wolves had it all to do this time round.

Wolves started the second half with more poise and attacking intent as the game was opened up following Norwich's opener.

In a frantic couple of minutes leading up to the hour mark Wolves were banging on the door to rip the roof off Molineux, but Podence and Semedo both wasted more chances.

Lage turned to Raul Jimenez and gave a debut to Chiquinho in an attempt to get back in the game, while the Portuguese also reverted to a 3-4-3 formation.

But Norwich stood firm and held on to the win, keeping their third clean sheet in five games.

"We didn't play with the same dynamic in the first half. The second half we played,"

"It was hard to attack from the right, Leander [Dendoncker]
