Bruno Lage has revealed his new plan for Morgan Gibbs-White ahead of Wolves transfer decision

Bruno Lage has opened the door to Wolverhampton Wanderers’ first team to Morgan Gibbs-White.

England under-21 ace Gibbs-White has enjoyed a stunning season in the Championship with Sheffield United, scoring eight goals and assisting a further seven in 22 appearances.

He grabbed national headlines earlier this week with a stunning back-heel goal in the Blades’ 4-1 win over promotion rivals Middlesbrough.

Sheffield United boss Paul Heckingbottom has already admitted the Blades would like to make Gibbs-White’s loan from Wolves permanent.

But Lage is ready to give Gibbs-White a shot in the Premier League next season and offered the 22-year-old the chance to re-join Wolves in January.

When asked whether Gibbs-White will be in the Wolves first team next season, Lage said: “Morgan already knows the answer to that question.

“The most important thing is I was talking with him, I didn't put pressure on him, but I said to him, ‘If you want to stay with us in January, you can stay and I’ll be happy to work with you because I have the feeling that Adama (Traore) is going. If it’s more important to you to continue at Sheffield United, I’ll be happy in the same way. If you want to stay, you need to accept the challenge to fight with Trincao, with Pedro (Neto), with Daniel (Podence) and Hwang.’

“I put the decision in his hands, I was comfortable with both. I have been following what he has been doing. I have his goal here. Every time he scores a goal I have a guy sending me the things these (loan) guys, not just Morgan, are doing. He scored a backheel in a 4-1 win. He knows I follow what he’s doing.”

Lage played Gibbs-White in a variety of positions and systems during pre-season and believes the academy graduate fits into Wolves’ 3-4-3
