Bruno Fernandes reveals dream Manchester United shirt number after new contract

Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes has set his sights on bagging the No.8 shirt after signing a new contract at Old Trafford.

The attacking-midfielder — who joined the club from Portuguese giants Sporting Lisbon in January 2020 — has put pen to paper on a new long-term deal at United, keeping him at the club until the summer of 2026. The deal features the option to extend his stay by a further year.

Fernandes will be looking to help United reignite their push for a top-four finish when they face Leicester today (Saturday). He has proven to be one of United's best signings in recent years, scoring 49 goals and claiming 39 assists in 117 games for the club.

Fernandes replied: "I hope to get it one day... but for now I hope to have my brother @juanmata8 close to me." He also included a love heart emoji in the post, signifying his strong relationship with Mata.

On committing his future to United, Fernandes told the club's website: "From the moment that I joined Manchester United I have had a special relationship with the club and our amazing fans.
