Bruno Fernandes explains Ruud van Nistelrooy Man United training change after Erik ten Hag sack
Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has explained how interim manager Ruud van Nistelrooy brought the ‘joy’ back to training following the sacking of Erik ten Hag.
Van Nistelrooy ended his four match stint in interim charge of the club on a high on Sunday. Goals from Fernandes and Alejandro Garnacho gave United a comfortable 3-0 win over Leicester City at Old Trafford.
It means that the Dutchman remains unbeaten with three wins and a draw from his four matches in charge. He will now hand over the reins to incoming manager Ruben Amorim.
Speaking after the win against Leicester, Fernandes, who has scored four goals and assisted a further two in the last four games, has explained how the interim boss approached training.

"It's been a big part, obviously, he felt that everyone was a little bit down," the captain told MUTV. "Results, everything that succeeded with the manager. He understood that the momentum of the players is not great. The mood was down, the confidence was down, so everything he did every day in training, it was trying to bring joy to the training.
"You know, like trying to bring smiles, trying to be involved, tried to make everyone enjoy it, and make it look a little bit loose, the training. And he brought a lot of energy from that, you know, he brought people fighting, training, running, trying duels and lots of small games, competitions, and that.
