Bruno Fernandes confident of Manchester United plan to replace him vs Sevilla

Bruno Fernandes is confident that Manchester United will be able to win without him when they face Sevilla in their Europa League quarter-final second leg next week.

United travel to Spain with the tie evenly poised after they surrendered a two-goal lead to draw 2-2 at Old Trafford on Thursday night.

Erik ten Hag's side were the better side throughout the match, but they paid the price for their complacency when they scored two own goals in the closing stages.

It means United have it all to do when they face the La Liga side again next week, and they will have to do so without the help of Fernandes.

The Portuguese midfielder is suspended for the return fixture after he picked up a harsh yellow card for a handball on Thursday night, but he is confident that his side will get the job done.

“We have great qualities on the team [and players] that are ready to do their job,” he told BT Sport. "Everyone that has not been playing a lot wants to play and if some of those players will not be there – in my case I will not be there – they will have the chance to show themselves and we all believe that the group has great qualities to go there and win the game, whoever plays in the first XI or not.

“We conceded two goals in the last few minutes and we give, a little bit, the game away. But we still have another game to play and the game is still open. It's like a 0-0 because now the goals away from home doesn't count, so we have to go there and do our job again.”
