Bruno Fernandes admits Manchester United only 'worried' by one thing amid Erik ten Hag future speculation

Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has insisted that the team are only worried about winning the FA Cup this afternoon and not the future of manager Erik ten Hag.

Speculation about Ten Hag's future has grown this week after reports suggested Sir Jim Ratcliffe had opted to sack the United boss after today's final. United sources have told MEN Sport that the focus is on the cup final and they refused to be drawn into speculation surrounding their manager.

Before the game, Fernandes was asked by BBC Sport about Ten Hag's future and dismissed the notion that it could be a distraction for United. He explained: "We are playing a cup final.

"No one is affected by external things because the only thing we have to be worried about today is about winning the FA Cup and giving the best of ourselves. Everyone in that dressing room is fully focused on that."

United's season ultimately hinges on the outcome of the FA Cup final this afternoon. After early exits in the Champions League and Carabao Cup, the Reds finished the Premier League season in eighth place.

This means United are outside of the European qualification places for next season. However, winning the FA Cup against Manchester City shall secure their spot in next season's Europa League.

MEN Sport understands if Ten Hag is sacked, Ipswich Town boss Kieran McKenna is in the running to be hired as his replacement. Mauricio Pochettino and Thomas Tuchel would also love to work for United as would ex-manager Jose Mourinho.
