Bruce Springsteen in Cardiff live updates as The Boss opens European tour at Principality Stadium
Thousands of fans are descending on the Welsh capital as The Boss kickstarts his European tour at the Principality Stadium on Sunday, May 5. The legend that is Bruce Springsteen, known for his hit songs such as Dancing in the Dark, I'm on Fire and Born in the U.S.A, will be returning to Cardiff for the first time in 11 years.
Kicking off the 2024 European leg, Bruce and the E Street Band, who have been performing together for more than five decades, are due on stage at the stadium at 6.45pm. Gates are set to open at 4pm.
The show is meant to end at 10pm, but with reports that Springsteen's shows tend to go for almost three hours on some occasions, it's hard to tell if this will actually be the case.
The last time The Boss and his E Street Band performed in Cardiff was in the summer of 2013. Previously, they had played the Cardiff stadium in 2008. Although the legend played a series of UK gigs back in summer 2023, Springsteen had to cut short his world tour due to suffering with symptoms of a peptic ulcer. It's fair to say therefore that this has been a long-awaited gig at the Cardiff stadium, with many excited fans eagerly anticipating to be in the presence of one of the world's greatest ever rock stars.
For those who are going to the concert, or those who simply just want to avoid potential live traffic or road closures, we will bring all the live updates below:
