Bruce can save WBA millions with 19 y/o gem who's "going to have an excellent career" - opinion

West Bromwich Albion manager Steve Bruce spoke a few weeks ago about the significant potential summer transfer business that he will be looking to execute in the coming weeks.

With the Baggies having failed to mount a substantial promotion push this season, there’s a big chance that there could be numerous deals being completed this summer. One deal which could be done in the coming weeks and months may see young Baggies defender Caleb Taylor leaving the Midlands club on loan.

In a recent tweet, West Brom journalist Joseph Masi addressed the young centre-back’s immediate future.

The Express & Star reporter said: “Spoke to Caleb Taylor this morning. Very impressive young man. Lots of clubs interested in taking him on loan next season. I’ve got the feeling going forward though he’s going to have an excellent career with Albion…”

As a product of the club’s youth system, the 19-year-old has made 68 appearances for the Baggies across their under-18, under-23 and senior teams.

The teenager played 28 minutes of West Brom’s final game of the season as they beat Barnsley 4-0 at the Hawthorns.

Last August when the Baggies lost 6-0 to Arsenal in the Carabao Cup, the youngster managed to show what he can do at the back, despite the unfortunate scoreline. With 82 minutes under his belt against the north London club, Taylor made two tackles, two interceptions and three clearances, also winning four of his five duels that night.

If an offer comes in which would allow the defender to leave on loan and get some regular senior football elsewhere, this should definitely be something for the Baggies to consider.
