Browns QB Watson cited for speeding in August, pleads not guilty - ESPN

Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson was cited for speeding on a Cleveland interstate last month and pleaded not guilty Wednesday morning, according to court records.

According to Fox8, which reported the speeding ticket, Watson was cited Aug. 26 for allegedly driving 86 mph in a 60 mph zone on I-480.

A bench trial is scheduled for Sept. 23, four days before the Browns' home opener against the Carolina Panthers in Week 3.

Watson, 30, was named the Browns' Week 1 starter after a training camp competition with Shedeur Sanders.

Cleveland's season opener at the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday will be Watson's first regular-season start since tearing an Achilles tendon in October 2024.
