Broos offers Mosele olive branch after Bafana no-show: 'We talked, it's case closed!'
Bafana Bafana head coach Hugo Broos says he had a meeting with midfield ace Goodman Mosele, who now has a clean slate.
The 22-year-old has been a star performer for Orlando Pirates during the domestic campaign, and Broos included him in the Bafana squad for the 2022 FIFA Qatar World Cup qualifiers against Ethiopia.
However, in October last year, Broos had to call on SuperSport United youngster Jesse Donn as Mosele withdrew from the squad without any communication to the Bafana team management.
Six months since the incident, the Belgium boss has offered the player a lifeline.
Mosele has now made the cut for the Bafana 23-man squad for the highly-anticipated international friendlies against Guinea and world champions France.
"I had a meeting with Goodman and with coach Ncikazi, and it was a good meeting," Broos said via SABC Sport.
"For me, it's case is closed, and there he is [in the squad]. He had to be there already in October, but we don't talk about it anymore.
"I saw how he's playing at Orlando Pirates and I was happy with his performances. So, it's okay... it's up to him.
"But I couldn't go on [overlooking him] because there was a problem... I had to solve the problem," continued Broos.
"So, we had the problem in October, okay, and I was very angry at him... very angry because I couldn't understand how the player would do something like that, but it's okay."
"Again, we talked, and for me, Goodman is a player, and at the moment a good player, and what happened in the past is in the past, finish."
