Brody Paterson targets Celtic shop window as youngster wants 'ambitious' transfer

Celtic youngster Brody Paterson not only wants to help Airdrie into the Championship but to put himself into the shop window for a summer move.

The Diamonds head to Links Park for tonight’s semi-final first-leg this looking to show why they finished above Montrose in the regular season.

Paterson is also playing for his own future as he is set to leave Celtic at the end of the season.

The talented left-back will be looking for a new club in the summer and knows a strong end with Airdrie will help his cause.

Paterson said: “My contract is up with Celtic in the summer and I will be leaving.

“I am looking forward to a new challenge, one I can learn from and can give me a platform to take my career forward.

“I have high hopes and expectations of myself and I want to go to a good, ambitious club that will allow me to do well and I can also help the team progress.

“I have had a good education at Celtic coming through the ranks and playing for the B team earlier this season and these loans have now given me a good foundation.

“Hopefully, I can have another few games in the play-offs with Airdrie to build on what we have done as a team this season.

“If we could win promotion it would be the perfect way to end the season.”

The 21-year-old won promotion with Queen’s Park last season and wants to make it two on the bounce.

Paterson added: “It is always a good game when we play Montrose. “They have a good blend of youth and experience. “We were unlucky not to go up automatically.
