Put your hands over your face, because this a match no man will want to recall in a hurry. Super Showdown was the venue for the first-time meeting between the WWE Hall of Famer and the legendry Undertaker, but things really didn’t go to plan. With both men far from their best shape (something Undertaker admits during documentary The Last Ride), the match descended into a difficult watch for all following Goldberg’s concussion through a ring post collision, just minutes into the match.
It resulted in several awkward-looking failed spots from the pair, most notably Goldberg’s failed Jackhammer attempt on The Phenom, and a performance that put both men’s ability to able to perform at this level into serious doubt. Thankfully, both have proved otherwise and the match swept under the carpet, where it belongs.

A storyline that began somewhat clunky with Goldberg accusing the WWE Champion of not respecting his WWE legends, despite there being no evidence or segment on TV prompting this accusation. They did, luckily, get back on track in the build to their Royal Rumble meeting – Drew’s brush with COVID aside – but the match itself was the biggest example yet of the mystique of Goldberg beginning to wane.
