Brock Lesnar got unreal pop on SmackDown return to confront Roman Reigns

Brock Lesnar returned to SmackDown in style last night to wage war against Roman Reigns once again after making a dramatic appearance following Reigns’ defence of his undisputed WWE universal championship against Riddle.

Reigns had completed a successful defence and was ready to depart from the ring after the thrilling bout, but for Lesnar’s iconic music to reverberate across the stadium and send the crowd into a cacophony of excitement.

Just moments prior, Reigns had declared that he would ‘wreck everyone and leave’ and that he had been accomplished with ‘no one left to beat.’

Having interrupted Reigns’ party, Lesnar cut an ominous figure as he stood motionless on the walkway, beading his eyes into his opponent, who cut a rattled figure from Lesnar’s unexpected presence.

Having made his way to the ring, Lesnar made a show of extending his arm in front of Reigns and prompting a shake of hands to solidify the future bout, and with The Tribal Chief eventually returning the gesture, a swift manoeuvre left the champion dangling from the air and slammed from an unexpected F5.

Seemingly not satisfied, Lesnar ran though the entire Bloodline to close the show in resounding fashion, leaving fans bellowing from across the arena at the tantalising twist.

WWE announced after the show that Reigns will defend his titles against Lesnar in a Last Man Standing contest in the main event of WWE SummerSlam, slated for Saturday, July 30, 2022, at the Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee.

The fight comes following Reigns’ dramatic victory over Lesnar last April, where he defeated The Beast Incarnate in the main event of WrestleMania 38 and unified both titles.
