Brittany Hudak, Mark Arendz claim team sprint bronze, Canada's 7th medal at Para biathlon worlds

Brittany Hudak and Mark Arendz claimed Canada's seventh medal of the Para Biathlon World Championships with team sprint bronze on the final day of competition in Prince George, B.C.

The Canadian duo clocked a time of 22 minutes 44.4 seconds in Sunday's final as Arendz collected his fourth medal in four events at the Caledonia Nordic Ski Club.

Ukraine also wrapped up a podium-filled week at the inaugural competition, with Bohdana Konashuk and Liudmyla Liashenko capturing gold in 20:41.9. Germany's Linn Kazmaier and Leonie Maria Walter finished just 11.5 seconds behind the Ukrainians.

Arendz, who hails from Hartsville, P.E.I., captured three world titles in Prince George, winning the men's standing 7.5-kilometre sprint, 12.5km individual race and sprint pursuit. The 34-year-old is a 12-time Paralympic medallist, including two biathlon gold medals.

Prince Albert, Sask.'s Hudak picked up her second bronze of the week after finishing third in the women's standing sprint.

Canada's Para biathletes return to action at Caledonia next week for the World Cup finals, running March 13-17.
