Britney Spears' new husband Sam Asghari is a big Manchester City fan

Pop superstar Britney Spears has tied the knot with personal trainer and fitness model Sam Asghari with an intimate at-home ceremony in Los Angeles. The pair showed their big day was a fairy tale come to life as they shared photos and video from their nuptials on Instagram.

Toxic and Slave 4 U singer Britney, 40, was a radiant bride in a white off-the-shoulder Versace dress and a flowing white veil. Britney wrote lovingly: "Fairytales are real."

Britney and Sam have been together for six years after meeting on the set of Britney's Slumber Party music video. Sam, 28, will also be a familiar to Fifth Harmony fans, having appeared in the girl band's Work From Home video as a workman.

Not many fans may be aware that Sam is a major Manchester City fan. In January 2019 he shared a photo of himself in a City kit. And he said with a jokey emoji: "@mancity say hello to your new signing. congrats on your big win #manchestercity."

Then in December that year he thanked the club for flying him to the UK to watch them play their rivals in the Manchester derby. "A huge thank you to @mancity for flying me out to the UK to witness the biggest game of the year Manchester city Vs Manchester United! Who will be king in Manchester after tomorrow’s game?," he shared on his Instagram with a video of himself in town.

"Keep an eye out for my posts tomorrow as the Game goes on #football#manchestercity#derby#puma," he added. Last month he celebrated them being crowned Premier League champions. "@mancity once again Premier league champions May 22," he cheered.

The wedding ceremony on Thursday was attended by about 60 guests,
