British couple murdered on honeymoon in Uganda terror attack

A British couple have been tragically killed on their honeymoon in Uganda. David and Celia Barlow had travelled to the East African country to celebrate their marriage when they were attacked by a terror group linked to ISIS.

The couple, along with their 40 year old guide Eric Alyai, were shot dead and their jeep was set on fire. The police have released images of their burnt-out safari vehicle after the horrifying incident in the Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Tributes have been pouring in for the couple from Hampstead Norreys, near Newbury, Berkshire. Their local cricket club has paid tribute to them, stating that Dave had been a "constant" around the club for years.

The statement went on: "He was at the time this incident occurred with the most important person in his life, a woman who we all knew so well, as Dave was so proud to share all of Celia's achievements. She too was an amazing human being, who will be desperately missed. Lord Barlow as we fondly know him by will be with us forever. The entire club's thoughts and prayers are with Dave and Celia's families right now." Club secretary Oliver Laurence added: "Right now though, it's about his family, and close friends and all of us."

St Mary's Church in Hampstead Norreys posted on its Facebook page: "We wake today with a heavy heart and the deepest sorrow to hear the devastating news of the death of Dave and Celia Barlow.
