Britain's Got Talent return is confirmed - and it's just weeks away

Britain's Got Talent has produced a long-line of stars over the years including street dancer George Sampson, who first showed off his incredible skills performing on Manchester's Market Street.

The first winner of the long-running ITV talent contest, hosted by Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly, was won by Welsh tenor Paul Potts. And the following year Susan Boyle, who memorably made jaws drop with her rendition of I Dreamed a Dream from Les Miserables, lost out to dance troupe Diversity in the final.

The much-loved show, judged by Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon, and David Walliams, has been away from our screens for two years because of the coronavirus pandemic. But ITV has now confirmed it will start airing the auditions from next month according to The Mirror.

Auditions for the 15th series started filming in January. And judge Amanda confessed she cried when they were reunited in front of the cameras.

"Do you know what, I have to say, I cried. I mean it was so lovely to see everybody but when we walked into the theatre and actually had an audience, a proper audience," she admitted at the time.

Host Ant also got tearful after two years off air.

"Excuse me while I go and cry. We are so excited to be back. We were gutted to miss last year and not get to see you all," he told the audience.

"But we’re back, raring to go and have one hell of a show for you."

The winner of the 14th series crowned back in June 2020 was pianist Jon Courtney. In second place was Sign Along With Us and in third place was comedian Steve Royle.
