'Brilliant' - Pundit hints at 'outstanding' Celtic transfer 'as soon as the window opens'

Ange Postecoglou will want Celtic defender Cameron Carter-Vickers to  sign a permanent deal at Parkhead as soon as the transfer window opens, according to Frank McAvennie.

The 24-year-old was deemed surplus to requirements by Tottenham last summer, instead joining the Hoops on loan in order to be a regular starter and advance his career.

Carter-Vickers has done just that, fitting in seamlessly under Postecoglou, excelling at the heart of the defence and averaging 4.3 aerial duel wins per game across 27 Scottish Premiership appearances, helping his side to six points clear above Rangers.

Celtic have the option to sign the American on July 1st and it seems to be just a matter of time before it’s locked up, with recent reports revealing the player’s camp feel Glasgow is the best place for his continued development.

“Ange will want this deal done as soon as the window opens. He won’t want to be messing around. The last thing he wants is a transfer saga that means Carter-Vickers doesn’t come back until just before the season starts.

“Let’s get him in early so he can have a full pre-season up here. I think this one will get done. I don’t think he has a future at Tottenham and we should be getting the Champions League group money to spend.”
