Brilliant moment couple win two tickets to Glastonbury in Willy Wonka style golden ticket giveaway

This is the ‘mental’ moment a couple won two tickets to Glastonbury on a chocolate bar. Earlier this month confectionery company Tony's Chocolonely announced it had hidden five pairs of tickets to the festival inside chocolate bars in a Willy Wonka-style giveaway.

Tickets for Glastonbury - which last year attracted crowds of 210,000 - have been sold out for months. However, on Sunday (April 23), festival bosses issued a limited number of resale tickets after the initial buyers failed to pay off their deposit.

Jovi Bunce from Didsbury is a festival regular having attended the past few years with the same group of friends. Unfortunately though, their annual trip looked to be off the table this year after the group missed out on the resale tickets which sold out in six minutes.

Feeling disheartened, Jovi said he was on his way to his local gym to cheer himself up when he came across an advertisement for the Tony's Chocolonely competition in the window of a local charity shop.

“When we missed out on the tickets I thought ‘I couldn’t believe it, I’m not going to Glastonbury,” said the 27-year-old said.

"I walked past an Oxfam shop and I saw a sign on the window, and I thought, ‘I remember they were doing a thing with the chocolate company. When I walked in the lady said they were quite popular, so I picked out a few randomly.”

Jovi bought five chocolate bars for £4 each. He opened the first one on his way to the gym to no luck.

He opened another at a friend’s house but was also unsuccessful. It wasn’t until when he met up with his girlfriend Abigail Pearce who had been away for the weekend when they finally struck gold.
