Brighton: Key duo will be 'considering' potential exit from Amex

Brighton and Hove Albion manager Graham Potter and attacking midfielder Leandro Trossard will ‘definitely’ face speculation over their futures, according to journalist Dean Jones.

The Seagulls have started the current campaign in impressive fashion after an outstanding 2021/22, leading to questions being raised over the futures of some of their top talents.

In Potter’s three full seasons at the helm, Brighton have recorded finishes of 15th, 16th and ninth, firmly establishing themselves in the top-flight with some impressive performances.

That has seen the 47-year-old tactician be linked with the likes of Everton, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United in the past.

However, Potter has never come close to actually leaving the Amex Stadium so far and continues to excel despite losing key players such as Yves Bissouma, Marc Cucurella and Neal Maupay this summer.

One star who Brighton were able to keep hold of, though, was Trossard despite Belgian outlet RTBF (via The Sun) claiming that both Manchester United and Newcastle United were eager to prise him away from the south coast.

Potter did confirm that the Belgium international has more than a year remaining on his contract contrary to popular belief which perhaps played a part in him staying put.

Jones believes that both Potter and Trossard will be linked with moves away over the coming months due to their success with Brighton but that the duo will be ‘considering’ whether the grass is actually greener elsewhere.

In an interview with GiveMeSport, he said: “There’s definitely going to be rumours over both of those people.

“But I think that they’ll both be considering whether the grass will actually be greener if they were to make those moves.”
