Brighton chief breaks silence on Roberto De Zerbi's future amid Manchester United links
Brighton & Hove Albion CEO Paul Barber has said there's 'no promise' that Roberto De Zerbi will stay as the team's head coach.
As reported by the Manchester Evening News last month, United are interested in the Seagulls boss amid uncertainty surrounding Erik ten Hag's future at the club. The Ineos Group are understood to have analysed potential replacements for the Dutchman.
De Zerbi has overseen an impressive job since being appointed Brighton boss in September 2022, leading them to Europa League qualification last season. As a result, he has been linked with several high-profile jobs, including the prospect of replacing Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool.

And now, providing an update on De Zerbi's future, Barber told TNT Sports: "Every time that you do well in the Premier League, expectations go up, not just from your fans but also from your coaches, players and staff.
"It’s a challenge to make sure you can meet those expectations but it’s something we intend to try. As always in football there’s no guarantee. With Roberto, it doesn’t matter if we’re sixth; he’d want to be fifth.
"If we were fifth, he’d want to be fourth, and so on. That’s the way that he’s built, he’s commanding, but we like it that way. He pushes us all to be better."
