Brianna Ghey: Family's thanks for 'overwhelming generosity' as fundraising appeal tops £100,000
The family of teenager Brianna Ghey, who was found dead with stab wounds in a park, have spoken out to thank friends and total strangers after a fundraising appeal in her memory topped £100,000.
They revealed her legacy would live on as some of the money raised will go to a UK charity working to train teachers in schools to improve children's mental health. And Brianna, they added, would always be 'close to us forever' as cremation jewellery for the whole family is being bought.

A message posted by Brianna's family on a GoFundMe page in her memory thanked people for their 'overwhelming generosity'. The fundraising page has raised more than £114,000.
Brianna's family said thanks to the donations they have been able to transform her bedroom into a space where they "can sit and remember her". Money donated to the family has also been used towards her funeral and to buy cremation jewellery for the whole family.
In an update on the page, her family said: "Thank you all for your support during this incredibly difficult time. The kindness shown has been a comfort, and we are so grateful for everyone who has donated in Brianna’s memory.
