Brewery launches ‘bear hunt’ game across Manchester to give away FREE BEER

The Beartown brewery is plotting a city-wide ‘bear hunt’ game, with those spotting the stickers featuring its new logo being offered an evening of free beer. The Congleton-based brewer will be sticking up pink versions of the new logo all over town, in billboards and bus stops.

Beer lovers can then scan the stickers’ QR code, upon which they’ll be given details of a party at a secret location. Once at the party, punters will be given free pints of Inception, the brewery’s new IPA.

The party is set for July 29 - a Friday night - with one event going on in Manchester and a second party in Liverpool on the same night.

Joseph Manning, MD of Beartown said: “We’ve had our heads down in Congleton for the last few months getting our brewery back up and running after an extensive renovation and are finally brewing again. In addition to the new brewery we have some swish new branding and I can’t wait to send the Beartown Bear out into Manchester and Liverpool and invite Mancs and Liverpudlians to join me for a pint on July 29th.

“The campaign is designed to get the word out there about our beers to a younger generation of beer drinkers but whilst imprinting the image of the pink Beartown bear on everyone's mind so of course we went for a bear hunt.”

The brewery started life in 1994, named Beartown after Congleton’s nickname, so given after townsfolk borrowed the money set aside to buy a bible to buy a dancing bear instead, back in the 1600s.

Beartown opened a new tap room in its brewery earlier this month to showcase new beers.
