Brett Hodgson laments underwhelming Hull FC display as he gives updates on Carlos Tuimavave and Andre Savelio

Brett Hodgson was hugely frustrated by his side’s underwhelming performance in their 16-4 loss to Craven Park. The Black and Whites failed to get going against their bitter rivals and despite touching down in the first half through Josh Reynolds, they were second best throughout the contest.

KR took the lead as Ryan Hall got over in the corner before Reynolds capitalised on some fine work from Josh Griffin to finish in front of the pocket of travelling support. However, FC struggled in the second half and a knock-on from Darnell McIntosh gave the Robins the impetus and momentum to take the control.

Lachlan Coote went on to score twice in quick succession and that was enough to inflict Hull's third straight defeat in all competitions and Hodgson was left lamenting his side’s failure to rise to the occasion.

"Tough to take,” Hodgson said. “I don't think we did the derby justice in any way. It was a poor quality game in the first half and they just got the better of us with completion in the second half. It's hard to take because we didn't do the day justice at all.

“We completed at 55 per cent I think in the entire game. We just weren’t able to give ourselves enough chances down their end. We have to understand as a team that if it’s not working for us, how do we allow ourselves to get in a contest again

“Once they scored their first try after half-time you could see a definite change in heads dropping. We've got to figure out how we get back to winning ways.”

The Black and Whites saw Carlos Tuimavave limp out of the action at the end of the second half, while Andre Savelio didn’t emerge after the break.
