Brentford's Marcus Forss set to join Hull on loan with move subject to EFL approval

Marcus Forss is closing in on a loan move to Championship side Hull City until the end of the season, subject to EFL approval.

The Finn has struggled for game time in Brentford's debut season in the Premier League, with only seven appearances so far.

Many Championship clubs made enquiries about his availability, but it appears Hull have won the race for his signature. The Tigers were taken over by Turkish businessman and entrepreneur Acun Ilıcalı last week, and appear to be looking up the table.

Hull are in a relatively healthy position with regards to their league position. They are 12 points clear of Peterborough United who occupy the final relegation place despite having a game in hand.

However, they have only scored 25 goals this season which is the third-worst in the division. Only Barnsley and Peterborough have scored less than the Tigers in the Championship this season so far.

Now under new ownership and management under Shota Arveladze, they will hope that the Finn will kickstart his career and help them climb up the table.

Including last season's memorable play-off campaign, Forss scored eight goals in 42 Championship games and will be hoping that his time in East Yorkshire could be the catalyst for challenging for a first-team place next season.
